<p>Pulse meter comprises a sensor (4) producing a signal dependent on frequency of pulse beats, an electronic circuit and a numerical indicator for the number of pulse beats per min. The sensor comprises a contact member (16) extending over a large circular surface and surrounded by an annular bead (14) for application to a wrist artery, and a piezoelectrically sensitive member (18) underneath for converting mechanical stress due to the pulse beats to electrical pulses. The contact me member pref. consists of a resilient metal disc, and the piezoelectrically sensitive member consists of a cylindrical member attached to the rear side of the disc. The instrument is small, easy to use, and indicates the pulse immediately.</p> |
