The fixing assembly, for mounting an isolated metal chassis to the metal housing of communications equipment, has electrical insulation between chassis and housing. The insulation consists of a plate (5) with raised circular fixing points (6) through which the fixing screw (2) passes to clamp the chassis (1) to the housing (3). Each fixing point has a ring (20) through whose centre hole the screw shank passes. The outside of the ring is linked to the circular raised wall of the fixing point by radial webs (21). These webs break when the screw is tightened.
