<p>Reader for cards carrying information on magnetic strips has a magnetic head with a Hall probe, with the cards being moved by hand along the head. The magnetic head (8) with the Hall probe (2) is arranged at the side of a slot (10) in a card guide (11) so that the Hall probe, which is sandwiched between two ferrite plates (1), is perpendicular to the direction of card (4) movement. A pressing spring (18) presses the card against the head. Pref. the part of the head facing the card guide slot is coated with corrosion-resistant material (17), which is non-magnetic.</p> |
