A strip guide device is used to regulate movement of a strip of towel material in an automatic towel dispenser. It has a roughened motor driven conveyor roller. The strip guide device includes at least one strip guide (10) positioned perpendicular to the axis of the conveyor roller (4). Several strip guides (10) are positioned along the length of the conveyor roller at a distance from each other having a swivel bearing and connected to each other. The strip guides are made in 'U' shape and their free ends are connected to each other by cross stays.
