The conical mirror (7), for illuminating the dial markings (5) around a clock face (1), receives incident light, falling on the mirror (7) from behind the clock, and concentrates the light onto the rear of each transparent dial marking (5). The conical mirror (7) may be in the form of a ring concentric with the clock face, or it may be formed by a silvered annular ridge in the surface of a transparent plate behind the watch face. The battery and drive circuit for the clock may be contained in a support base, with the clock face (1) being adjustable on the base for optional illumination of the dial markings (5).
|
