<p>1501857 Pressure indicators MARSTON EXCELSIOR Ltd 25 April 1975 [7 May 1974] 20011/74 Heading G1L [Also in Division H1] A device for sensing high pressures in chemical equipment or underwater conditions, for example, or for sensing liquid levels in storage tanks, comprises a body 10 containing a snap-action fluidtight domed diaphragm 45 and transducer means operable by inversion of the diaphragm, wherein the diaphragm inversion is non-retractive and the diaphragm is welded between a pair of annular members 47, 48. In a first embodiment Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown) the diaphragm actuates a piston (20) carrying the moving contact (23) of an electric switch (see Division H1). In a second embodiment a piston (40) Fig. 3 (not shown) delivers a fluid-pressure output pulse when the diaphragm inverts. In the embodiment shown in Fig. 4 light from a lamp 54 is reflected on to a photo-electric cell 59 until the diaphragm inverts whereupon the change in output from the cell 59 causes a suitable response by means of electrical circuitry not disclosed.</p> |
