Thread detector unit for beaming or raschel frame - facilitates drawing in and ensures interference-free faller wire motion

A thread detector unit is provided with a number of faller wire arranged to pivot on a common axis and having at one end an eyelet for the passage of a thread. The wires are all positioned in parallel planes defined by slots through a support beam through the ribs of which the holes for the pivot are drilled on a common axis. The support beam is formed by a series of sections bolted on to an assembly rail. The faller wire consists of a length of metal thread one end of which is curved over to form the yarn eyelet whilst the other end is folded over double. A centre section of the wire is pressed flat to a thickness fitting accurately in the milled slots of the support, and drilled for the pivot pin. The arrangement ensures that between the faller wires there is sufficient space that they do not obstruct each other's motion. The device is partic. applicable to monitoring the threads from a beam, as in a warp knitting frame or Raschel loom.
