PURPOSE:To easily provide antioxidative treatment on carbon material without using a special device for impregnation or chemical vapor deposition by coating the surface of the carbon material with a pitch containing ceramics and sintering the carbon material. CONSTITUTION:Ceramics (such as SiC, B4C, SiO2, B2O3) are added to oil pitch or coal pitch. Carbon material such as graphite or carbon is coated with the molten pitch containing ceramics and then sintered at 1500 to 2500 deg.C. The surface of the carbon material thus obtd. consists of a carbon-ceramics composite material. |
