<p>1402236 Auto-threading device for a helicalscan tape recorder SONY CORP 3 May 1973 [4 May 1972] 21166/73 Heading G5R An auto-threading device for a helical-scan recorder, in which a tape loop L is pulled from a cassette 4 and wound round a head drum 1 by a pin 29 mounted on a rotatable ring 21, includes a guide pin 44 which is pivotally connected to the ring 21 and is moved outwardly thereof by a fixed actuator 52 as the loop L approaches its operative position to hold the tape run L 2 away from the drum 1. The guide pin 44 is mounted on one of two pivotally connected arms 45, 49, the other of which is pivoted to the ring 21 at 46. Initially (chaindotted lines), the arms 45, 49 are extended along the ring 21 with the pin 44 leading and a depending pin 50 on the arm 49 retained in a recess 51 in the ring 21. The ring 21 extends beneath cassette front opening 10 and pins 29, 33, 42, 44 are all behind the tape run T 1 . Upon counterclockwise rotation of the ring 21 by a motor 24, the depending pin 50 eventually runs into a slot 53 of the actuator 52, deflecting the pin 44 outwardly. Continued rotation of the ring 21 causes the arms 45, 49 to jack-knife so that pin 44 adopts a trailing position as shown. Latches (155, 254), Figs. 6, 8 (not shown), may be provided for locking the pin 44 in its outer position, and are actuated by a cam device (164, 165) or by the arm (149). Finally, guide pin 33 on pivoted arm 34 is pulled away from the cassette 4 through a striker 41 on the ring 21 engaging a bell-crank 38, to hold tape run L 1 against drum 1 and an erase head 16. An arm 26 supporting both the pin 29 and a pinch roller 28 is pivoted by a solenoid 32 to engage the pinch roller 28 with a capstan 14.</p> |
