PURPOSE:To achieve effective utilization of battery by connecting a battery and a rectifier to the output side of e DC-DC converter and connecting a bypass diode, in forward direction with respect to the battery, across the converter while furthermore connecting a charger across the battery. CONSTITUTION:Upon stoppage of a rectifier 11 and a charger 19 due to interruption of commercial power source, a battery 14 is discharged immediately through a bypass diode 16 to feed DC power uninterruptibly to a load 15, and the voltage of the battery 14 lowers as discharge proceeds. A DC-DC converter 17 is operated before a voltage obtained by subtracting voltage drop across the bypass diode 16 from the voltage of the battery 14 lowers below the voltage level required by the load 15. When the converter 17 starts operation, the bypass diode 16 is biased reversely and the battery 14 feeds DC power through the converter 17 to the load 15 until the voltage is settled. |
