<p>Fuel compsns. for IC engines or for heat generation comprise (a) a hydrocarbon fuel, e.g. gasoline, gas oil or kerosene; (b) a coupling additive (specifically an activated refined petroleum sulphate); and (c) demineralised H2O. The compsns. are stated to give better combustion and less CO emission than the corresp. heat hydrocarbons. They are less expensive in terms of oil imports. Pref. the compsns. contain 40-65% (a), 10-25% (b) and 20-35% (c). The compsns. are pref. prepd. by stirring the hydrocarbon at ambient temp. in an electric or cyclone mixer, adding component (b) to form a soln., slowly adding the H2O, and maintaining the agitation for 15-20 min. to obtain a stable homogeneous mixt.</p> |
