<p>The control mechanism for the movement of the guide bars or needle bars in a knitting machine has >=1 guide needle bar to control the lower action. A mechanical drive mechanism, consisting of a lever and a lever arm is bonded mechanically to the main drive shaft. On each machine cycle, as the shaft rotates, the drive changes from a first to a second position and back to the first position at predetermined angles of main drive shaft rotation. The drive is linked mechanically to the guide bar by a control unit, a linkage, a push rod and guide stud with slot. A selector operates together with the push rod from a control circuit, for selective alteration of the upper guide action by modifying the linkage between the drive and the guide bar. The mechanical movement drive gives a rapid and synchronous upper guide action with selective movement transmission between the drive and the electro-pneumatically controlled guide bar for the lower action.</p> |
