<p>The folding press has a die mounted on a horizontal table, and a punch on the lower end of a slide working in two columns fixed to the table, the slide being thrust topwards the die by two rams. Each ram is mounted between its respective column and the slide. Between the points at which the rams (20, 22) act, the slide has two upper extensions (24, 26) on opposite sides of a central portion of constant section. Actuators are provided, tending to pull these extensions together, and thus counteract bending of slide and table during the folding operation. Typically, the actuators can be mounted between two pull links, pivoting on the extensions.</p> |
