<p>Low power electric lamps (4) are mounted in the underside of the wing mirror housings, to be lit at night so that the driver can easily pinpoint the positions of the mirrors. The lamps can be operated by a separate switch, or can be coupled to the main lighting switch. The system provides a simple control so that the driver can use the wing mirrors to steer the car through confined gaps. His attention is not distracted by searching for the position of the mirrors when driving at night.</p> |
