Vehicle transmission and braking system - acts on both driving and driven shaft through epicyclic gears

The transmission system has reduction gearing of the epicyclic type and has brakes acting on both driving and driven shafts. The drive is supplied from the shaft (3) which connect with the planetary gears in the box (2). The driven shaft transmits the motion through the disc brakes (14) and (17) having the fixed discs on the housing. The braking system is housed in a fixed housing integral with the crown wheels of the gear. The moveable discs are able to come into contact with the fixed discs integral with the planet wheel carriers. The outer end of the braking system is integral with the wheel hub.
