Automatic recognition of trading coupons - compares colour intensity of coupon with previously memorised sample

The system explores in sequence each zone comprising the surface of a trading coupon. Signals corresponding to different colour intensities of the coupon, are transformed into an algorithmic function or word. This function or word is compared with a sample word. This sample word corresponds to a coupon sample previously introduced in a comparison memory. The system has a 'dictionary' memory containing sample words corresponding to a number of bona fide coupons. It is possible to insert a prechain sample word into the comparison memory. The system has a reader which examines the surface of the cheque. The system has also computer for transforming the read signals into a unique significative word. This word is then sent to the comparison memory to be compared with the sample word.
