The ski brake installation includes a brake lever capable of being swivelled below the ski's lower side by spring action with the turning axis extending transverse to the length axis of the ski. The brake includes an actuating lever (15) connected to the turning axis with the former also having an effective connection with the release mechanism for the operating opening of the heel binding after release of the heel holding section (1) by the sole of the skiboot.
