A supply switch with a first thyristor and a supply choke are in series with the supply voltage and connected to the input of a switching network. An inductance e.g. the horizontal deflection coil carrying a saw-tooth current is connected to the switching network output. A switching circuit with a second thyristor is in parallel with the switching network input. In order to control the energy supply ignition instant of the first thyristor is shifted relative to that of the second thyristor by control pulses from a control circuit. A control circuit (2) has a time limiter, so that, esp. at a high supply voltage, ignition time of a first thyristor (Th1) can be shifted only so that the limiting of energy supply is maintained.
