A vehicle clutch without torsion damping springs has a set of thin plates secured together in the conventional manner by rivets in circles at the periphery, and inset from the periphery. A main plate of smaller dia (7) is attached by riveting (5) to a thick flange (3) of the splined hub (2). This flange has bosses (6) formed around it, the flange in turn being formed from the same material as the hub. These bosses are first pierced by a tool to give a set of holes, then the edges of the bosses are forced over to grip the plate (7) which has been fitted over the bosses.
|
