Optical cable with single fibres or fibre bundles - accommodated loosely with surplus length in protective metal tubing

Optical cable consists of single fibres or fibre bundles for transmission of light accommodated loosely with surplus length in protective tubing made of metal. The inside diameter of the protective tubing (1) is such that the single fibres or the fibre bundles can lie in wavy or helical lines without exceeding the permissible radius of curvature. The surplus length is so great that the optical fibres (2) are not loaded in a longitudinal direction even at max. elongation of the protective tubing (1). The cross-section of the protective tubing (1) can be circular or U-shaped.
