PURPOSE:To enhance operating efficiency by providing a printing pressure adjusting means for adjusting a printing pressure according to data stored in a printed density check data storage means. CONSTITUTION:When a printing process is started, it is judged whether or not data at an address (n) in a RAM 25 is '1', that is, whether or not the printed density found in the preceding printed density checking operation is unacceptable. When an unacceptable printed density is detected, the number of density failures stored at an address n+1 in the RAM 25 is incremented by 1. Next, the data at the address (n) in the RAM 25 is cleared, and a driving time data corresponding to the number of density failures is read from a table stored in a ROM 24. The driving time data thus read is set into a timer register 29 in a printing-controlling part 26, and printing is conducted. When the driving time is set into the timer register 29 in the printing-controlling part 26, for instance, a printing pressure is raised, whereby a density limit of an ink ribbon is extended. The extending is repeated until the number of density failures reaches 4. |
