Machine for vacuum deep-drawing thermoplastics sheets comprises a mobile clamping frame cooperating with a fixed frame, a heater, a height-adjustable table with mould and a vacuum pump. There is a pressure transmitter which is connected with cylinders for generating the lifting stroke of the fixed frame. This pressure transmitter exerts increased pressure upon the cylinders, to effect increased clamping force once the mobile clamping frame has completed its (mould) closing motion. Used in deep-drawing of plastics sheets even of relatively substantial thickness, without risk of the sheet being displaced during the forming step. Expensive hydraulic plant is not necessary.
