PURPOSE: To conduct a probe test safely and effectively by setting the length of the bore of a central valve in a push-rod piston to such a size that the valve closing member of the central valve can guarantee the stroke of a floating piston. CONSTITUTION: When a pressing member 52 is pressed to the left direction by a brake booster in a tandem master cylinder, the pressure in a pressure chamber 33 is boosted via a push-rod piston 29, and a floating piston 34 is moved to the left by the pressure. A valve closing member 27 is kept in contact with a valve seat 7 in the piston 29, and a ball-shaped valve closing member 8 is kept in contact with a valve seat 9 in a floating piston 5. The length of the bore 28 in the push-rod piston 29 is set to such a size that the valve closing member 27 at least can move the floating piston 34. The valve closing member 27 is prevented from being extracted from the piston 29 at the time of a probe test. |
