摘要 <p>1501337 Entangled yarn of stretch - broken fibres E I DU FONT DE NEMOURS & CO 31 March 1976 [1 April 1975] 13078/76 Headings D1F and D1W An entangled yarn of randomly intermingled synthetic organic fibres of number average fibre length 18 to 60cm has a distribution of fibre lengths such that at least 5% of the fibres are no longer than 12.7cm, 50% to 93.5% are longer than 12.7cm and no longer than 76cm and at least 1.5% are longer than 76cm, and an entanglement pin count of 3 to 50mm. It is formed in a direct spinning process by stretch - breaking and drafting continuous filaments having a break elongation of less than 70% between input rolls 9, 10 and delivery rolls 11, 12 the delivery rolls being situated 65 to 130cm from the input rolls and rotating at a circumferential speed of 5 to 100 times that of the input rolls, the filaments being unsupported in the stretch breaking zone, the fibres being removed over apertured delivery roll 11 by aspirating jet 17 to form an entangled yarn. The accumulation of static charge may be minimised by means of static bars 15 and/or the provision of porous cloth bags 16 containing finely ground calcium carbonate or other antistatic agent underneath the rolls and/or the use of filaments containing or treated with an antistatic agent. The entangled yarn may be further entangled by passage through entangling air jet 18. The yarns are substantially free from crunoidal loops. The continuous filaments are of polyethylene terephthalate, a 98/2 copolymer of poly(ethylene terephthalate / 5 - sulphoisophthalate sodium salt), nylon 66, rayon, aramid(poly - p - phenylene terephthalamide) or a copolymer of acrylonitrile methyl acrylate / sodium styrenesulphonate (91.5/8/0.5). A mixture of nylon and polyester filaments may be used. The filaments may be cold drawn or hot drawn (using heated shoe 14) between feed rolls 7, 8 and input rolls 9, 10. In example 5 a short heated shoe is used so that the fibres have different shrinkages. The tenacity of the yarn in g/denier is at least 45% of that of the filaments. The shrinkage, number of free ends and number of neps are specified.</p>
