1501417 Fork assembly HOLMBOM & HEDLUND AB 21 May 1975 21955/75 Heading B8H The forks of a fork-lift device, for attachment to the lift carriage of a lift truck, are pivotally mounted about axes inclined to the vertical and located in a plane containing the vertical portions 40 of the forks, when the forks are in their operative position, for movement between their normal operative position and an inoperative position in which they overlie one another. The device comprises a frame formed of uprights (4), Fig. 3 (not shown), and cross beams 5, and mounting plates 9 slidable along the cross beams. The forks are each pivotally mounted on a respective plate 9 by a hinge 14, 15, 16 whose axis 13 is inclined by an angle α to the horizontal. The angle α may be the same for both hinges or may be equal and opposite. A spring biased pin 18 serves to releasably lock the forks in their operative position and a pivotally mounted pin 28 releasable holds the forks in their inoperative position. |
