<p>1491833 Water purification FOREMOST - McKESSON INC 16 Feb 1976 [21 Feb 1975] 05985/76 Heading B1X A method for purifying and dispensing water comprises the steps of: delivering water under pressure to the feed water inlet of a first reverse osmosis unit, delivering permeate from the first reverse osmosis unit to the feed water inlet of a second reverse osmosis unit at substantially the same rate that the permeate is produced by the first unit, delivering permeate from the second reverse osmosis unit to a storage tank, dispensing water from the tank, interrupting operation of the reverse osmosis units in the event that the water in the tank rises to a first predetermined level, and resuming operation of the reverse osmosis units in the event that the water in the tank drops to a second predetermined level. The flow pattern is shown in the Drawing: the storage tank 36 is provided with float switches to control the operation of pumps 23 and 24, a limit switch which renders the coincontrolled dispenser inoperative if the level falls too far and an overflow-preventing limit switch which shuts down the apparatus if the level rises too high.</p> |
