The disc pack 10 may be provided with an insert 41 for centring on the hub 55 and hardened inserts 37 which are supported on the support plate 56. The spindle may be hollow with an internal sleeve 57 for receiving a squared end of a locking shaft of the disc pack. A further centring ring 36 may also be provided on the disc pack.
