<p>A masking process for masking a defined area on the surface of a substrate which is to be coated with a combustible coating material which comprises using as the masking means, a combustible masking material having a heating element enveloped therein along the edges thereof, coating the masked substrate with the coating material, decomposing the coating material and the masking material at the edges of the latter with the heating element, and then removing the remaining coated masking material and the heating element.</p> |
