<p>An oven for heating continuous strip has a chamber through which the strip passes, offering a resistance to the heating gas applied to the strip, and an injector which discharges hot gas underneath the strip. Part of the heating gas is extracted and recycled through the external circuit which includes the heater and a blower. The gases from the injector tube may pass through a horizontal perforated plate under the strip and onto the underside of the strip, thus forming a gas cushion. A set of injectors may be used spaced along the strip, underneath, and inclined downwards at a small angle to the horizontal. Each injector may be enclosed in a chamber under the strip, all the chambers being a set of compartments formed by vertical sheets, terminating just under the strip.</p> |
