The tool is connected by a sleeved nut to the stem of a tool holder with a flanged top. The latter is basically circular, with a lug projecting one side. The top of the tool holder is then secured to the machine by a sleeve (8) with inner and outer parts (10, 11) with a slot one side for the flanged top and projecting lug. Both slots for the inner and outer parts have rounded inner ends, and the centres of rotation (16, 17) for both semicircles (14) are displaced along the centre line. The centre point (17) for the outer part (11) is nearer the semicircular and then the centre point (16) for the inner part (10). Between them are spring-loaded pressure elements for alternative positioning. The eccentricity is between 0.05 and 0.2 mm, e.g. 0.1 mm.
