Mechanism for treadle selection between a loom and a dobby or another loom, uses an auxiliary motor with a clutch to engage or disengage the motor shaft with the loom and dobby. Two toothed flanges are keyed to the shaft of the dobby or the shaft of the loom. At least one selector grips in the holes of the flanges to ensure the keyed fit of the flanges. A rotary unit is operated by the auxiliary motor to control the sliding action of the selector. At least one of the two planetary rim gears carried by the rotary unit is a wheel set with a different toth count on the rim wheels. These act with a different tooth counts of the teeth of both flanges. The effect is that after holding fast of the flange keyed to the shaft of the loom, and after the selector has been pulled back and the auxiliary motor has rotated the rotary unit on the planetary rim gears, the planetary rim gears give the low speed rotation of the flange keyed on the shaft of the dobby, until the selector ranges again into the holes of the flanges. Smooth and simple selection of the operating mode is achieved without acceleration of the moving parts when the auxiliary motor is in operation. |
