A fuse is constructed on a frusto conical support (1) having an axial hole (4). The fuse itself is formed from a fuse alloy pressing in the form of two discs (10) and (11) connected by a thin length (12) of the alloy. The discs (10) and (11) locate in recesses (6) and (7) at opposite ends of the frusto-conical support while the thin fusing length (12) locates in a channel (5) coincident with a generatrix of the cone.
