<p>An annular textile article is formed by winding a spiral of textile filament onto e.g. a spool having side flanges with e.g. radial slots, and stitching the winding of the spirals of filament together, using a stitching device having a needle which passes through the slots. Pref. the slots of one flange are in alignement with the slots in the other flange. The article is used as an edging to reinforce holes in textile webs (e.g. knitted or woven). Mfre. of the article can be controlled so that it provides a uniform reinforcement for the hole.</p> |
