The manufacture of cutlery from stainless steel uses the same tubular or tapered section to form knives, forks and spoons. In the case of a fork (3), a rounded cut is made forming the base (7) of the fork prongs (9), which are subsequently cut out. A dimple (10) is added to anchor the forefinger. The handle (8) is filled with synthetic resin (11). A spoon can be started in the same way, the 'bowl' shape being stamped out of the cut profile. A knife is made by cutting and then twisting the cut section to make a flat blade. Other profiles such as solid triangular or hollow rectangular can be used.
|
