The grape harvester has an inverted U-shaped frame which straddles a row of vines and carries pairs of beater assemblies. Each of the latter has rods mounted on a vertical shaft with a crank driven by a variable length connecting rod eccentrically coupled to a rotating disc. The connecting rod has two rods pivoted together at an angle which may be varied by a further rod pivoted to a lever held against an adjustable stop by a spring. The moving beaters cooperate with fixed counter beaters, the crop being delivered to an endless bucket conveyor for discharge onto a transverse belt conveyor.
