摘要 <p>Furnace is for sepg. useful metals from a material contg. zinc. The novelty is the use of an inclined or V-shaped hearth with tuyeres distributed along the hearth and a bottom tap hole for removing matter and/or slag, plus registers or dampers. The front ends form a 'V' or a slope, each damper matching the position of the tuyeres. The furnace pref. has an upper inlet for sec. air and a recuperator consisting of a boiler producing high pressure, steam, plus a bag filter collecting ZnO. The raw material is pref. briquetted using lignosulphite lye and powdered coal. The tuyere blast preheated to >=450 degrees C.; and the reaction zone temp. >=1300 degrees C. Residues from the pyrometallurgical treatment of zinc may be treated to separate volatile from nonvolatile metals with a high yield and high thermal efficiency, using the steam in a turbine generating electricity.</p>
