Combined space and TDM switching system for telephone networks - has two way switching of subscribers via electronic crosspoint switches

The combined space-time multiplex system is for telephone switching networks. It uses a four-wire interconnection arrangement and required no further amplification of the signals being transferred. Each subscriber (T1-n) is connected via a two-wire circuit to a four-wire coupler (G). Each coupler is connected to two lines of the coupling field (KF) in the multiplex system. Each row of the coupling field (Sp1) has an electronic switch (KP1) which is controlled from an interconnection register (VS) which selects a free row in the coupling field when a cut-through command is initiated. Mosfet transistors are employed as electronic switches. Switches connecting each four-wire termination to the coupling field (S1-2) are controlled by time-multiplex pulses so that the go and return circuits to the subscribers are switched one after the other.
