1500389 Valves ODIN CLORIUS AS 20 June 1975 26365/75 Heading F2V A pressure responsive device for a pressure regulator (not shown) has a stem 12 projecting from the device for operating the regulator by axial displacement against resilient bearing means 13 by a diaphragm 11 the lower side of which is subjected to pressure from the regulator. The stem passes through a displacement member 18 and has a bearer 16 secured to it so that in the event of excessive pressure developing above the diaphragm the displacement member moves the stem upwards to close the regulator valve. As shown a piston 18 forms the displacement member which may alternatively be a bellows or diaphragm. Under pressure above the diaphragm due to leakage too great to be vented at 22, piston 18 will move against spring 19 and after take up of lost motion, move the stem 12 against spring 17 to close the regulator valve (not shown). Adjustment of springs 17, 19 enables the regulator to be kept open a preset small amount under leakage conditions. |
