<p>1498234 Mixing apparatus FORD MOTOR CO Ltd [20 Nov 1974] 41360/75 Headings B1C and B2F An air atomising spray gun for spraying a multi-component fluid is provided with a manifold member 24 having a through passage 28 for air supply and for attachment of the manifold member to the handle 14 of the spray gun, the member 24 having fluid inlet ports 32, 34 for components of the sprayable composition, the components being combined in the manifold into a single flow which then passes through a static mixer 26 to the fluid inlet connection 22 of the spray gun. The manifold member 24 has a further inlet port 42, Fig 2, for connection to a source of flushing solvent. Inlet ports 32 and 34 have non-return valves and inlet port 32 is provided with a quick-disconnect coupling for rapid attachment to alternative fluids., A system is described for supplying to inlet 32 differently coloured components of a coating composition, and a further component to inlet port 34, the system also providing for the supply of a flushing solvent to inlet 42 to clean the passages during the interchange of the colours (Fig. 4, not shown).</p> |
