ADVANCED CRACKING REACTOR

Reactor for cracking hydrocarbons, and more especially a range of feedstock e. g. naphtha, gas oil and crude with a hot gas comprising (a) a first cylindrical tube (T) closed at both ends, >=1 of which has a central opening (b) >=1 hollow feed chamber open at both ends, one of which passes through the cylindrical surface of the tube (T) and entering this so that vapour flowing through this does so tangentially to the interior wall of the tube (T) and creates a vortex stream therein (C) >=1 second tube (P) open at both ends, one of these being connected to the tube (T) at the level of and concentric with the central opening and communicating freely with the interior of (T). (d) overall dimensions such that where a=diameter of the first tube (T) b=height of the first tube C=equivalent (hydraulic) dia. of the second tube (P) c'=equivalent (hydraulic) dia. of the central opening in (T) then b/a=0.01-1:1; c'/c=1-0.1:1, d/c=5-200:1; Vt/Vp=0.01-5:1 where Vt and Vp are the volumes of the tubes (T) and (P) respectively.
