<p>1464417 Interrogator responder systems SIEMENS AG 17 June 1974 [15 June 1973] 26160/74 Heading H4L In a microwave interrogator/responder system in which a multi-place piece of data is transferred from the responder in response to a swept microwave signal from the interrogator transmitter, the responder incorporates resonators tuned to frequencies with discrete ranges each corresponding to a respective place of the piece of data, the resonators being coupled along a microwave line (a hollow waveguide) in substantially optimum resonance positions. The sequence along the microwave line will determine the time at which each resonator responds and will not normally correspond with the place positions to which the resonators relate. The system therefore incorporates in the interrogator receiver place stores to store the values in the order received from the interrogator and a collator to re-arrange the place order of the values after an interrogator scan has been performed. Two possible responder arrangements are diagramatically indicated (Figs. 3 and 4 not shown), and two possible logic arrangements for the collator are described in outline (Figs. 6 and 7, not shown).</p> |
