<p>A metal or plastic bellows surrounds the piston rod and has its ends secured gas-tight to the free end of the piston rod and to the pump housing. The space enclosed by the bellow may be connected to a buffer container. This space may be connected to a press. relief valve. The bellows are pref. of PTFE ethylene. The arrangement protects the piston rod of a piston pump from dirt or icing-up, partic. when handling liquefied gas.</p> |
