<p>The prefabricated building construction system uses cast concrete components of weight less than 30 kg, apart from lintels, to form isolated external supporting walls, the components being all of one type. The supporting portion can be lightened by large cells necessitating only 8.2 components per sq. metre for a weight less than 30 kg. Some of the cells can be used as lost shuttering so as to incorporate reinforced concrete strengthening members, absorbing vertical and lateral movement produced by earth tremors. They can also be utilised as ventilation conduits, frost-proof drains, and as mountings for internal partitions.</p> |
