In the car transport trailers the loading platform (4) pivots around its centre of gravity to help loading and unloading. To load a vehicle a bolt (3) is removed and the platform is tilted by a ram (2) and the vehicle is drawn on by a hand or electric winch (1). When the vehicle has been drawn to the correct position the ram is released and the load is balanced in the middle of the platform. A safety lock is provided consisting of a swinging bolt which locks automatically when the platform is horizontal. It is then held by a screw. A moving support (5) can be used for damaged vehicles.
