<p>1-Methyl-4-(2-carboxy-thioxanthen-9-ylidene)piperidine of formula (I) and their salts, ester and amides are new. (I) are used as appetite stimulants and antiallergic antihistamines with low antiserotonin and anticholinergic activities for both humans and animals. They may be prepd. by hydrolysis of the corresp. nitriles, e.g. 1-methyl-4-(2-organothioxanthen-9-ylidene) piperidine is refluxed with 6N.HCl.</p> |
