The automatic waste collection system is intended for either domestic or industrial use and consists of rubbish shoots which connect into a conveying system. The outlet from a rubbish shoot is directed into the hopper of a low-speed cutting machine. The cut-up rubbish is then fed into a collector, provided with an airflow, via a sluice which consists of an inclined pipe auger driven by a servomotor. With this device, rubbish can be introduced into the collector on command from electronic circuits which receive information on the amount of material in the collector. The outlet hopper from the cutter can also be provided with a sensor which turns of the sluice when the hopper is empty.
