The pneumatic saddle comprises a rigid baseplate (1) with devices (5) securing it to the saddle bar, and a thin flexible envelope, either moulded directly onto the baseplate or secured to it so as to form a sealed joint. The envelope is inflated with a predetermined or adjustable amount of air via a valve (2). The baseplate can be of metal, plastics or other rigid material, cut into a saddle shape and with a flanged edge (1d) by which the envelope is held in place. Alternatively it can be a moulding in one piece with the envelope, but thick enough to give the desired rigidity. The mounting on the saddle bar can be formed by feet at right angles to the baseplate and withopenings for a bolt, either out and bent out from the plate, or moulded integrally with it.
