The oil sump (12) is provided with an outer flange (10), on which a rubber-elastic profile section (14), closed over the circumference of the flange, is slid. This profile section serves for sealing and centring of the oil sump (12) in an oil sump frame (5) and for isolating the structure-borne noise of the crank case (1) from the oil sump (12). The metal parts adjacent to the profile section (14) partially enclose this in order to largely protect it against the hot oil and against mechanical damage. The profile section (14) presents different degrees of stiffness in different directions in order to improve sealing and the isolation of structure-borne noise. The profile cross section comprises two hollow bodies, for example rings, connected by a bridge. The profile section (14) presents different degrees of stiffness especially in two planes perpendicular to one another. <IMAGE>
