The machine has a tautening device (10) with its own clamping member, in which a gap (11) through which a foil web passes is provided. In a first stage of movement of the tautening device, the position and/or stroke of the gap are changed in such a way that a clamping of the foil web occurs automatically. During a subsequent further stage of movement of the tautening device, the foil web is retained in the said clamping member. The foil web is guided in a single layer through the said gap, the first part of an angle of rotation of the tautening device being used for clamping the foil web by changing the position and/or shape of the gap and the second part of the angle of rotation being used for tautening. <IMAGE> |
