The chain wheel drum has two chain wheel rings. The chain wheel rings are bolted to flanges connections. The chain wheel drum runs on bearings carried by a hollow shaft like housing part belonging to the reduction gear. The two chain wheel rings are identical and secured by bolts to the drum flanges. The outer chain wheel ring is bolted to its flange by an intermediate flange. The outer flange has a smaller dia. than the inner flange which allows the inner chain wheel ring to be exchanged without removing the drum.
